Shannon Taylor is a new graduate student in the Department of Health Outcomes and Policy. Shannon recently graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in nutritional sciences. Her previous research experience includes work in the University of Florida’s Pediatric Psychology lab, Diabetes Institute, and Institute for Child Health Policy.
Shannon’s research topic is focused on diabetes prevention and implementation of optimal care and management. Currently, she is analyzing diabetic patient adherence to physician’s referral for UF Health’s Diabetes Education Program. As a pre-medical student, Shannon aims to become a researching physician who positively impacts the medical community by advocating for preventative care in chronic diseases. Shannon’s mentor is Dr. Ashby Walker, PhD in Sociology.
