Alex is a second year Ph.D. student in the Department of Health Outcomes & Policy. She graduated with her bachelor’s in applied physiology and kinesiology from the University of Florida in May of 2015, and is a certified exercise physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine. Alex works with the Florida Healthy Kids quality review team at the Institute for Child Health Policy as a graduate student fellow, and contributes to two research labs in HOP under the guidance of Michelle Cardel, Ph.D., R.D., and François Modave, Ph.D.
Her long-term professional goal is to impact the future prevalence of childhood obesity through research that identifies preventative efforts and interventions that are successful in health care and educational environments.
